Mining Cable Repair & Splicing

Damaged mining and trailing cable doesn't have to be replaced. Our certified crews repair, splice and re-terminate high-voltage cable — restoring it to full service for a fraction of the cost of new.

The Repair

We don't patch it — we rebuild it

When a mining trailing cable is cut, gouged or crushed, we rebuild it. Damaged conductors are cut out and spliced with exothermic welding for a true molecular bond, insulation and shielding are rebuilt to original spec, and the outer jacket is repaired with heat-and-pressure vulcanization that chemically bonds new material to the existing jacket — leaving a single, seamless section of cable, not a taped-over weak point.

Rogers technicians repairing cable conductors

Exothermic-welded conductor splices

Damaged conductors are cut out and re-joined with exothermic welding — a true molecular bond between conductor ends that carries full current capacity. Welded, not clamped: there's no mechanical connection to loosen or corrode over time.

  • Damaged conductors cut out
  • Exothermic-welded splices
  • Full current capacity
  • Nothing to loosen or corrode
Cable insulation and shielding being rebuilt

Insulation & shielding rebuilt to spec

Insulation and semi-conductive shielding are rebuilt layer by layer to the cable's original specification — restoring its electrical properties, not just its appearance.

  • Rebuilt to original spec
  • Semi-conductive shielding restored
  • Electrical properties matched
  • Tested before re-energizing

Heat-and-pressure vulcanized jacket

The outer jacket is repaired with heat-and-pressure vulcanization that chemically bonds new jacket material to the existing jacket. The result is a single, seamless section of cable — sealed against water, oil and abrasion with full flame-resistance, exactly like the factory jacket.

  • Chemically bonded jacket
  • Water, oil & abrasion sealed
  • Full flame-resistance
  • One seamless section — no weak point
The Payoff

A repair that outlasts the damage

A new run of high-voltage mining cable can cost tens of thousands of dollars and weeks of lead time. A proper vulcanized, exothermic-welded repair gets you back in service fast — and holds up.

Restore, Don't Patch

Restores the cable, not just the jacket

Mechanical strength, flexibility and electrical properties match the original cable — not a taped-over patch.

Welded, Not Clamped

Exothermic-welded connections

Welded splices carry full current capacity, with no mechanical connection to loosen or corrode over time.

Sealed for Life

Flame-resistant & moisture-sealed

The bonded jacket seals out water, oil and abrasion the same way the original factory jacket does.

Less Downtime

Keeps equipment running

A same-day field repair avoids the cost and downtime of sourcing and shipping replacement cable — critical at remote sites.

Certified

Meets safety & regulatory standards

Repairs are tested and documented — including ground and ground-check continuity — before the cable is re-energized.

Long Life

Extends cable life

A proper vulcanized splice can outlast the section it replaces, protecting your investment in expensive mining-grade cable.

How It Works

From breakdown to back in service

A disciplined, transparent process — so you always know what's happening and what comes next.

Step 1

Call or Pickup

Reach us 24/7. We dispatch pickup & delivery or mobilize a field crew straight to your site.

Step 2

Diagnose & Quote

Full teardown and inspection, then a clear scope and a straight quote before any work begins.

Step 3

Repair & Test

Rewind, rebuild or repair to spec — then balanced and load-tested until it's proven.

Step 4

Document & Return

A complete inspection report, then back to you — installed and commissioned if you need it.

Always On. Always Ready.

Cable down? Repair it — don't replace it.

Send us photos of the damage or tell us the cable type and voltage. Our crews will assess the repair, get you a price, and get you back in service — fast.
