Class 1 Truck Driver – Long Haul & Local (NB ↔ Labrador City)

Location: New Brunswick

Route: New Brunswick to Labrador City, NL

Schedule: Bi-monthly long-haul run (approximately 2 trips per month) with local NB work available between trips


Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class 1 Truck Driver for a dedicated long-haul route between New Brunswick and Labrador City, Newfoundland & Labrador, with the opportunity for local driving within New Brunswick between long-haul trips. This role offers a balance of predictable long-haul work and optional local runs, making it ideal for drivers looking for steady work without being away full-time.


Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a Class 1 tractor-trailer on scheduled long-haul routes
  • Complete bi-monthly trips between New Brunswick and Labrador City
  • Perform local delivery and pickup runs within New Brunswick between long-haul trips, as available
  • Ensure compliance with all provincial and federal transportation regulations
  • Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Secure and protect cargo according to company and regulatory standards
  • Accurately complete logbooks, trip reports, and delivery documentation
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding schedules, delays, or issues
  • Operate safely in remote regions and varying weather conditions
  • Maintain a clean, well-kept vehicle


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Valid Class 1 Driver’s Licence
  • Clean driving abstract
  • Previous long-haul and/or local driving experience preferred
  • Experience driving in winter and remote conditions considered an asset
  • Knowledge of Hours of Service regulations
  • Strong attention to safety and detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Professional attitude and strong work ethic

Millwright/Industrial Mechanic

Position Overview:

The Millwright position is a full-time, permanent role located in Bathurst, NB. This individual will be a key member of the repair team, specializing in the mechanical disassembly, repair, reassembly, and testing of rotating electrical apparatus and related equipment (e.g., pumps, fans, gear reducers). The role requires precision in mechanical measurements, tolerance verification, and ensuring the final assembly meets strict operational specifications.


Responsibilities:

  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings, service manuals, and repair specifications.
  • Disassembling and reassembling various electric motors, pumps, gear reducers, and other rotating equipment while maintaining component integrity.
  • Performing precise mechanical measurements and inspections (runout, alignment, bore size) on shafts, housings, and components using micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges.
  • Replacing or repairing mechanical components such as bearings, seals, couplings, sleeves, and shafts.
  • Preparing shafts and housings for dynamic balancing and working closely with the winding and balancing departments.
  • Performing base plate fabrication, alignment, and testing procedures for repaired units.
  • Performing basic rigging and hoisting duties safely within the shop environment.
  • Contributing to a safe, positive, and professional team environment.



Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of machining experience (apprentices will be considered)
  • Strong proficiency in setting up and operating manual lathes, milling machines, and related equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with a positive, professional attitude
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug test
  • Possess a clean driving record

  • Canadian citizenship
  • Permanent Resident status
  • Open Work Permit Closed or employer-specific work permits cannot be accepted for this position
